11+ Preparation

Having previously run 11+ courses, Reigate Tutoring is well-versed in the skills needed to be successful on the entrance examinations. 2024 saw tutees successfully gain acceptance to local independent schools such as Reigate Grammar School, Caterham, Dunottar, St. Teresa's and Box Hill. Some students also received arts, sports and academic scholarships.

We believe in making the 11+ process as straightforward as possible and feel that the best way to build confidence and capacity around the entrance examinations is by regular, on-going revision rather than a short burst of intense revision.

At Reigate Tutoring, Year Five is the year to ensure there is a consolidation of the skills learned to date as well as pre-teaching Year Six topics students will need to know for the entrance examinations. This means aligning our sessions with the curriculum and offering opportunities to stretch their learning when appropriate. When ready, the students will be invited to start writing practice papers. By the autumn term of Year Six our students have had plenty of experience writing past papers and are feeling confident in their abilities.
