At Reigate Tutoring, we believe that fostering a love of learning starts right at home. We are passionate about finding innovative and engaging ways to teach mathematics. It's an exciting subject, and I'm constantly on the lookout for fresh approaches to make it more impactful for students. That's why, after over 20 years of teaching experience, I'm currently in the process of qualifying as an assessor of dyscalculia and math learning difficulties.
During my postgraduate research, I have come across data that reveals a strong link between early subitising skills and success in maths during the school years. This discovery got me thinking: could we create something special to help preschool children develop these essential numeracy skills?
Creative Pickle and Reigate Tutoring joined forces to bring this vision to life. With Claire's creative expertise and our joint passion for education, we worked together to design and produce a set of subitising cards that tick all the boxes: they're educational, they're beautiful and they're easy to use.
Our aim is to create something that parents can easily carry with them, providing children with a fun and engaging tool to develop their subitising skills. Whether it's a few captured minutes waiting in the car for an activity, a time filler at a restaurant or a dedicated learning activity at home, our subitising cards can be the first step in fostering a love of maths!
