Reigate Tutoring's 11+ Success Programme for Year 5 Students
Responding to the demand for 11+ preparation classes, Reigate Tutoring is excited to offer weekly ongoing tuition.
Our sessions are jam-packed with curriculum-linked games and activities that will reinforce the skills needed to be successful on the entrance examination papers. Reigate Tutoring's learning environment is a positive and collaborative space, and we believe that making learning fun is the way to engage students.
In addition to pre-teaching Year 6 curriculum content, we will explore test taking strategies and have many opportunities to run through past papers. In maths, we will start by ensuring foundation skills in arithmetic are solid and then apply those skills to reasoning questions. In English, we will take a balanced approach working through reading comprehension and writing whilst building up spelling, grammar and punctuation skills. Embedded in our programme we will teach verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
With many decades of combined experience preparing children for selective entrance examinations and a proven record of success, Jennifer, Anne-Marie and Kersten are experienced and qualified teachers who are passionate about helping their learners build confidence and succeed.
Jennifer specialises in preparing children for the English component of the entrance examinations. She has 30 years of experience preparing children for selective entry into senior schools and is currently working as the Head of English at a popular independent preparatory school in Reigate.
Kersten specialises in maths instruction and has been teaching for over 20 years. She believes that the best maths learning comes from rich, open tasks where children are challenged to deeply understand the concepts.
Anne-Marie leads our pre-11+ Year 4 programme, helping your child build a strong foundation in English and maths. She brings a wealth of experience from 20 years preparing children for 11+ entrance examinations to London and Surrey schools.
Year 5 sessions are in-person at the Reigate Community Centre, Wednesdays from 5:15 pm - 6:45 pm and run during term time for the duration of the academic school year.
Each session will consist of 40 minutes of maths and 40 minutes of English with a 5 minute movement break and a 5 minute community circle. Tuition fees include a learning folder, past papers and additional resources. Invoicing will be half termly, payable in advance. Enrolment for the 2024 - 2025 cohort will be limited to 8.
Year 4 sessions are in-person at the Reigate Community Centre, Wednesdays from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm and run during term time for the duration of the academic school year.
Each session will consist of 60 minutes of combined maths and English learning. Tuition fees include a learning folder, past papers and additional resources. Invoicing will be half termly, payable in advance. Enrolment for the 2024 - 2025 cohort will be limited to 8.
